All about Kaavalan

All about Vijay-Asin starring tamil movi

While Vijay fans are eagerly waiting for the release of his most awaited 50th film SURA, the star hero is already busy in remaking Malayalam blockbuster movieBodyguard in tamil as Kavalkaran, in which he pairs with Asin after a few years.

Bodyguard turns Kaavalan

The director

Famous malayalam filmmaker Siddique is not new to Kollywood, yes if you remember the Vijay-Surya starrerFriends that was a film of moderate success directed by Siddique. He has also directed two more tamil films which are relatively less known and not of huge success.

The Film and its title

When he was busy with the post-production stages of Bodyguard, Siddique had the idea of remaking the film in Tamil. He later announced his decision to remake the film with enhancements in the script to better suite the Tamil audience.
After finalizing the cast of the remake, the title was announced to be Kaavalan, which was also the title of a yesteryear Tamil film starring M. G. Ramachandran and roughly transliterates to the word "bodyguard."

The heroine

Asin Thottumkal was signed up to pair with Vijay for the third time after their previous pairings in Sivakasi (2005) and Pokkiri (2007). This has also helped her make a comeback in Tamil cinema after her last appearance in Dasavathaaram (2008).
